The ideal yarn for weavers who are looking for a crisp, durable warp or weft. We like to pair this yarn, using it as a warp with our Ito and European Flax yarns, which we carry to produce stunning heirloom linens that will be handed down for generations. The cottolin yarn is a combination of cotton and linen, making it an ideal material for linens, as weaving with linen as a warp can be a bit tricky! The yarn comes in two sizes, and we have many of the colors in stock for both the 8/2 and 16/2 tubes.
Cottolin Yarn
Brassard Cottolin is a beautiful blend of 60% organic cotton and 40% linen. 8/2 Cottolin weaving yarn has a great hand, and comes in a gorgeous range of colors - including natural and bleached. This yarn is conveniently put up on 1/2 pound tubes, with 1680 yards to a tube. Sett: 18-24 epi.
16/2 Cottolin also comes in an 8-oz tube / 3360 yards per tube for a total of 6720 yards per pound and a recommended sett: 24-36 epi.
